Hi all,

a quick search on the forums didn't give me any joy, so here's a quick post.

I downloaded the 2 'Chapter S - Body' files from the incredibly useful rrtechnical.info website. (link)
Unfortunately, sections S9 through S15 are not in the 2 PDF's.

Does anybody have these sections in digital form?

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks, but no, unfortunately the version there also stops at the end of Section 8 "Windscreen and Rear window Contents".

All these sections are missing....help!

S12 Interior trim

Ideally I'd have a complete set of the manuals so that I don't need to hunt around as and when I need to look something up; you'd think that there'd be a full digital set somewhere...maybe I'll (we'll) strike lucky?!

But specifically, as I'm prepping for respray, I have read/seen that to remove the windscreen the dash surround need to be removed to allow access to the windscreen seal from inside the car. Also, removal of door capping etc., AFAIK these things are all to be found in "S12 Interior trim".

I ended up using similar sections out of TSD2476 (the original Shadow Workshop Manual) that roughly correspond when I needed to refer to this material.

There are a couple of "mystery omissions" like this in Crewe's documentation. In TSD4700 chapter C3 is MIA, and I have never found any source for it, anywhere.

sorry I thought SS2=silver spirit2 not silver shadow 2
I always use the forum posted in as my main guide. If I see SS2 in the SY forums its a Shadow II. In the SZ forums, its a Silver Spirit II.

I have re-sprayed many SY cars, including my 1981 SWII. , including windscreen removals. Removing and installing the windshield is well documented in the workshop manual. It's the same for a SI. The top dash pad must be removed to gain access to the lower section. The A pillar trim, along with sunvisors and top edge trim comes off. The seal is cut from the outside using a utility knife and pushed out from the inside with your feet. LEAVE the chromium trim in place. There are 2 clips with screws along the top aperture that secure the outside trim thru the seal and the nuts can be seen accordingly. The trim must be inserted into the new windscreen seal before the windscreen is installed. HOWEVER, you can easily work around all this useless work with an old technique. Buy a roll of braided cord, approx 3/16" and stuff it under the windscreen seal to raise the seal away from the body and tape accordingly. 3M also has a special tape if you can't find cord.

I use 10 or 12 gauge wiring pulled out of parts cars to tuck up under the window seals to hold the edge off the body so the repaint will go up under the rubber a bit. Regular vinyl coated wire, not cloth covered. Using wire instead of cord has no risk of fibres getting blown out while spraying the paint on. That way the rubber drops back down over the paint with no visible masking line after the wire is removed. Same procedure as Rob states above but using different material.

I have also used mono-filament from a string trimmer. I used braided Dacron line and had no issues with fiber shed, although everything was considered.
