I have a 1975 Silver Shadow whose passenger seat back continues to fall backwards on acceleration. I have taken the bottom seat out and the cables and mechanism seem to be intact. Removal of the entire seat seems difficult especially even accessing the rear bolts. Any advice is appreciated. Dave in Peoria ,IL

I have encountered the same problem. I don't remember all the details but......
There is no need to remove the seat.
You will have to look carefully for the srews and so on but the side of the seat base (and I mean the seat frame, not the lift-out seat cushion) can be removed to expose the seat back actuating mechanism.
From memory it was a wire(cable) that have become unhooked from a retainer.

Seat Back problem solved

The cable had stretched out so I put a slotted nut onto the cable end thus shortening the cable. I then readjusted the 1/2 inch nut on the side of the seat and it worked. Thanks Lordphi for stopping me before I took the entire seat out.
