I have a 1979 Shadow 2 which hasn't run for about a year. Now can't start and think its the fuel pump.

Can anyone give me details of were the pump is located?

Thanks

I would also change the fuel filters, make sure the fuel in tank is fresh, old gas not good. Even worse in the states with heavy ethanol blends; that stuff with moisture turns to a grease like paste substance, that gums up filters big time.

Dear Bob, I spent long time in Vegas and my dream always been cruising on Strip with my personal Rolls Royces or old GMs sadly parkeds in Europe....
THE FUEL PUMP is located in the right side of the car's platform almost in correspondence of the rear seat.
Sometime is sufficient tick it a little the pump with a soft hammer. I had same fault on every english car that I owned and still own...
There are 3 fuel filters:
1 is located about under the car not far from fuel pump in a sort of bowl, the others two are on carburettor floaters.
Check also rubber hoses conditions and if the fuel pump continue give problems buy a rebuilding kit (inner membrane is destroyed by unleaded fuel).
