The engine number is etched onto the front face of the crankcase just below the cylinder head and just above the drive belt tensioner on bank 2.
Highjacking the forum 10 years later, when you say ''the front face of the crankcase above the drive belt tensioner on bank 2'' you mean looking at the vehicle (facing your car) without bumper and radiators it should be on my right side of the engine block, the same side as the driver side in the USA?
Also, do I need to remove the drive belt and belt tensioners to be able to see the number?
I'm suspecting that a repair shop might be swapped some items in my vehicle I want to make sure they didn't stole my engine.
