Try Aromanche and the D Day exhibition. Lunch by the harbour at Honfleur or there's always the Bayeau tapestry
We have stayed at Les Manoir De Tourgeville. Excellent and safe parking

the casino in Deauville is horrendous, as well as the Normandy hotel (Barriere group)
les Vapeurs in Trouville is an institution - but book for dinner especially friday/saturday

if your wife is a moscovite, the shopping in Deauville should please her

Great to have input from our French friends but shopping is definitely out!!

I am in Deauville in July with the Bentley and my wife .But in May I am flying down to Monaco for the Historique Grand Prix with the lads for a spot of male bonding. We stay in Villefranche sur Mare and travel in daily by train.

As Somerset Maugham said "Monaco is a sunny place for shady people!"

Hi and thanks for your Help
So the trip we land on Thursday at 6 am and will make are way to Deauville and Honfleur for lunch Then off to Lisieux to the Basilica and then on to the first night at a Auberge De La pomme De Pin in Senonches will put some Photo's up and try to work out how to ad a video from the car

Day 2
we will be spending the day Touring the Chateaux Nearby and then back to the Auberge for the evening meal

Day 3
we will be driving in the Maine Natural Park over to Cancale for lunch we will be giving Mount St Michael a miss as we have been there about 4 times and the time is short so off up the cost to Auberge La Cocotte Gourmande in Carantilly

Day 4

Bayeux Tapestry ( we have Been Before but didn't get to see the Tapestry) so spend the day there and then of to the Boat at Cherbourg for tee 1800 Boat Home
The reason for the Auberge we have chosen is there supposed to be good for food will let you all know

Thanks for your help Michael

ENjoy Michael, as written above, Les Vapeurs in Trouville, very close to Deauville, is an institution. Have at least a meal there. Have the flat fish we call Sole, generally fished the morning....what More !!!
Your trip seems wonderfull specially with a fabulous car.

Sorry Jean but I have an allergy to mussels!
However Langoustines and Scallops go down very well particularly with a bottle of Muscadet!

Glad you are home with you and the car all in one piece.

The problem today is that most of the drivers today have little experience of driving in snow and only add to the problems. Where I live the Mum's on the school run all have large 4X4's but leave them at home when the snow comes.

One of the memorable rides of my life was driving home in a Morris Mini 1000 through 25 miles of snow and steep hills. To give it full revs in third gear at the bottom of a one in ten hill and pass the other strugglers will stay in mind for a long time.

Not so sure about hurtling a few tons of Bentley up the same hills!

Well What a trip this was
Got on the Night boat out of Portsmouth Restaurant closed so had to eat self-service
Went to the Bar and ended up with rubbish Bear so off to the shop and a bottle of red in the cabin sorted
left the boat in the morning heading for Hornfleur for lunch But the whether was so bad we decided to go in land So next on the list Charters we have been hear before so had a lovely day and then off to the Hotel
Logis Auberge de la pomme de pin in Senoches
this place was amassing he food was to fantastic the car park was free and set in its own grounds with locked gates this is a must if your in to good food we where there for to nights and will go back
so off we go to Saint Marlo we spend a lot of time hear and along this cost we have been looking for a hotel that we can use when we hear or over night stop and I think we found it
La Cocotte gourmande in Carantilly
this was in the middle of the countryside and looks new the hotel was fantastic but the Restaurant was amazing the food has to be on par with the best I have ever had
then the fun
in the morning we put the blinds up to find 5 inches of snow and the car in the car park was on a hill HELP
So had to get the car out befor the hotel any more snow so out I went started her up so it was nice and up to temp cleared the snow of the car and hoped she would be good !!!!!
She was very good didn't miss behave once up the hill around the bend and out side the front of the hotel amazing so we decided to head for the port and not go to Bayeux
so off we go and I must say she was very good snow sleet rain we had every thing
so in the restaurant having lunch thinking I was going to take the Mercedes thank God I didn't would stuck
so on the evening Boat to Pool the whether was bad arrived in Pool to More SNOW Not happy the roads where white could just make out the curb stones so as there wasn't meany cars out derided to go for it 3 hours later Home
I have to say I am so pleased we went in the Bentley it was so shore footed
Michael
