Good day gentlemen,

I’ve been able to do some work on my 1989 Bentley Turbo R, however, I keep getting referred to other garages as it appears no one has any interest in touching my car here in Dallas, Texas.

Some of the shops say the Turbo R is, “too new” and others say their young mechanics wouldn’t know where to begin.

My next project is the right front wheel bearings and new springs.

Are there any forum members in Dallas who can recommend a garage please? The service guy at the Bentley dealership wouldn’t even touch it.

I appreciate everyone’s help yet again.

Kindly,
Stephen

See: RR & Bentley Parts, Repair, Restoration & Other Resources Compilation

Search on Texas. I have two entries for the Dallas area. They are, however, a number of years old, so I cannot guarantee that there have not been closures or retirements.

If you find that any shop in the list is no longer in business I depend on members to let me know to take things out of the list.

I feel your pain. In Ontario - a province of 14 million people - there are exactly zero RR&B independent specialist shops that I know of. Fortunately my usual mechanic bought himself a Turbo R five days before I bought mine, so he's got something to practice on.

I think you should visit one of the monthly breakfasts on every 2nd Saturday of the month. I'm sure that you'll get recommendations.

I have just completed a 2 year restoration of a 99 Arnage which had been cannibalized and neglected. This involved getting into virtually every system from mirrors to complete engine teardown. I did purchase the shop manual on CD for $45 but having this allowed me to open stuff up without breaking anything. My conclusion is that any competent mechanic can work on these cars, there is nothing unique about them except that no generic scanner can access all the electronic functions. The CD is worth having, it contains all the specs, torque values, fluid info, circuit diagrams and instructions to remove and reinstall pretty much every component.
