As threads get longer and multiple pages build up, the way the forum or, perhaps, my preferences are set up is to always take me to the first page of the thread of posts. It would be really nice to be taken directly to the page containing the latest post.

When I review my preferences I do not see anything obvious that would let me do this. The only thing I can guess might is the "Board Style" setting [mine is at "GuildWarsTree" and that's what it was by default]. I didn't want to play with this setting not knowing what it would do first.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Leloarer,

Thanks. This is not precisely what I was asking about but it's plenty close enough.

I had not been aware that you could click on the little "black arrow to blank page" micro-icon. I had tried clicking on the poster name for the last post but that takes you to their profile.

Knowing that I can click on that micro-icon and be taken directly to the latest post in a given thread is very, very helpful.

Merci Beaucoup,
Brian

With the advent of the new forum design I thought I'd give this thread a bump.

As things are behaving by default now, even after the redesign, if I click on a thread that has multiple pages of responses I am always taken to the first post on the first page of the thread.

Is there now any setting I could go to in order to be taken to the "most recent post in the thread" (which is the last post on the last page) instead of the existing default?

You need to click the "User CP" link then, once on the user control panel page, click on the "Edit Options" link. (You'll probably be able to go directly to your own options page just by clicking on the link I've embedded in this post.)

About midway down the options are those related to private messaging. There's a check box for e-mail notification of a PM and another for pop-up notification.
