Not used the car for about 10 weeks.Went to use it and light stayed on. Now pump had been rebuilt and spheres replaced fairly recently. Fluid level was a little low. So I drove it cautiously. 5 miles and it went out. Topped Fluid when warm, small amount.
Car now perfect.
Trusty mechanic tells me pump pushrod was probably stuck in top position. Lack of use. He did mention a fix for later cars but because I've got twin distributors it don't work here,confused me somewhat. Also something about ride height get someone to sit in boot if its stuck.Drove car last night no issues.
Any comments appreciated.

Open brake pressur'e switches, clean inside and replace diaphragm,make sure plunger is free and in good condition, otherwise replace it, all available at Flying Spares
then blleedvery slowly to avoid emulsion each swithc engine iddling
Most simple and cheapest to start with
