I wouldn't get too jealous about US prices yet, I have a suspicion that ad on CL is fake. It's listed on Hemmings for $60K and includes the VIN.
I guess they could both be fake! $35K seems cheap, $60K too high so maybe they can meet in the middle

I say reach out to the "seller" and play along for a bit. I caught someone a few years ago that was trying to sell a car I had with old pictures. Never understood the end game and it sometimes makes the car search so frustrating.
Good luck on the search however. While I can't speak for UK prices, your budget seems reasonable.
