thanks!! Much clearer! So you had something similar I assume. Many thanks!
I had the ESP sporadically switched off with the light on. It was pretty much unpredictable when this would happen. Now the light is only permanently on when I abuse 馃檭 the car a bit. On a pass with a lot of narrow turns for example .

Taking into account the weight the Arnage is really a great car to push through corners. The weight balance is very good and the whole car is extremely stiff. Much better than any contemporary 7series or S-class.

@silvestrif have you checked your hydraulic fluid color? It should be a light, transparent green. If it hasn't been changed this may be a factor in the ESP issue.

I believe the brakes are triggered with the hydraulic pressure from the hydraulic system.

If I remember correctly there is no additional ABS/ESP pump as on other cars. If the hydraulic fluid isn't working to spec this may trigger ESP.

thanks Grease Donkey, really useful! I'm planning to change both brake and hydraulic fluid so hopefully will help. Today will check the hydraulic fluid to see if it light transparent green as you say.

Really appreciate your comments!

I think the hydraulic system only acts as the brake booster (in place of the more "normal" engine vacuum operated brake booster). So that would mean the system still has an ABS/ESP pump. But I'm not 100% sure of that....

Yes that's perfectly correct. I was wrong: there is an ABS/ESP pump installed 馃槒. Sorry for the confusion. Anyway chaning the hydraulic fluid is always right (if it is old). :)

ok scanned the car I got a code 01317 Instrument Cluster Control Module - non signal comunication......

Communication Device Font Mobile device Wood Gadget

other codes have been cleared.

Now, as I have that continues signal on the dash I assume it must be related to the error 01317? The code was cleared but comes back....

Anyone had a similar problem with this code? Any solution? Hopefully I don't need to change the entire cluster?

after a month with my mechanic I finally have my Arnage back and surprisingly I no longer have the beep every time I steer. I think refurbishing the front suspension and replacing the spring isolators made the car go back to the original height. Everything is working now!
Only slight worry is that I still hear a slight knocking noise from front left suspension on not perfect roads. On bumps or high speeds I don't hear anything just on irregular roads going very slow. I fear it maybe front left strut/damper?

Have you checked the ball joints? They are known to fail.

Affordable part numbers are here:

went through all the undercarriage with my mechanic and could find anything loose or wobbly......I think I have no chose if not to bring it in a Bentley specialist to inspect. I booked the car in for next Thursday with Hanwells of London which are local to me here in the UK....a bit worried to be honest........
They also offer a health check of the vehicle for 240 GBP plus VAT which I accepted but thinking about it I will now remove this item.....I'm sure they would produce a long and expensive list of things that need to be address......I prefer not knowing :)

So Hanwells confirm both front shocks are gone鈥..no replacement available (considering the cost so feel too bad about it鈥) so only option refurbish them鈥.Hanwells told me that they are still not convinced that they end up being 鈥渁s new鈥, tomorrow they are test driving a car that had them refurbished and will report back tomorrow.
After that I spoke to flying spares and told me that they send the shocks to the company that produced them in the first place for Bentley. They confirmed that they did many with no issues what so ever (apart one but the costumer did something wrong).

Did anyone in this forum refurbish their front shocks with a good outcome?

Just to know as this is the only option not having new available.

thanks

Filippo
