Hi guys, so started the car this morning and it just cut out after approx 30 secs never to start again, I have new battery, checked power from battery/ earth and all is well and there is also power to the starter but there are no ignition lights. 2 electric windows are working and lights come on, but nothing on turn of key not even a click, could it be faulty ignition switch? any suggestions I'm really stuck and need the car!!

Have also been advised as I tried jump starting not long ago it could be ammeter shunt? To confirm there are no dials working aside from amp dial and no lights coming on ignition

Check "fire triangle " :

- fuel / does the fuel pump works and send fuel / fuel filter is recent or old and full of sludge...
- air / is air filter ok , not tool old and full of dust
- electricity / do the spark plugs receive electricity

If one is missing, car will not statrt

By "lights" do you mean headlights or interior lights? If the headlights come on, then it's not the ammeter shunt. If just interior lights, then it still could be.

Cheers,
Jeff.

It may be also the bloc where you put the key with bad connections on the back.
Oxydation or connexions not screwed enough....

You should have ignition lights

Fault Ignition switch, yes , finally might be suspect n°1.

Or starter relay ?

Thanks for replies. Fuel and air have been checked, plugs are sparking. The car was in fairly regular use until approx 1 month ago. The headlights come on, few of the Windows work, but no power to ignition lights or dials and in turn of key no click or engine turning over. Have a new ammeter shunt will see how that goes today.
I will also take out the ignition block today see if there's power to switch at back
