Hello all I’m restoring my 72 shadow have been refurbishing carburettors and choke system can anybody advise on adjusting choke spring setting or just leave it as it was… someone has marked where it is set to I’ll add picture so someone may be able to tell me whether it is set somewhere near to correct.
pointer is between 11-12 notch from the left side.

First make sure the metal "stovepipe" is in good shaped (not cracked at the manifold) before moving on to the choke element itself.

I do not have one since my car is fuel injected. I had them on previous RR's, but every car has it's own setting which is explained in the workshop manual.Can you hear the magnetic solenoid click mounted next to it?

Yeah solenoid is working when it’s on cold start as choke butterfly arm moves position when I switch ignition on I found a hole in one of the stove pipes so that doesn’t help car ran fine just started to get bad at starting especially once the colder weather started to get here
