There is a 1973 Rolls, advertised as a Silver Shadow with 52K miles and "needs engine work." My question is what to look for typical to this model. Sounds like a pig in a poke, but a former Maserati I bought was simple carburator issues, whilst I passed on a Lambo with a blown motor. I will learn what I can re: whether it turns over, oil in water, water in oil, etc. etc. But the car looks fully complete, stored indoors, and not disassembled in any way. Helpful also is any hint of value.

I would be cautious about it. Do you know if it runs or how well it runs?

Needs engine work is a pretty blank statement.

There could be a 100 different things that could possibly need to be done.

Problem is obvious , , ,

The problem with the engine is that the number 3 piston and the oil pan are in the trunk. Car has sat mostly indoors since then. Some degradation of the vinyl roof. Definite parts car material is anyone is interested. Scrap around here sells for $13/100lbs. I suspect the Rolls will sell for more than scrap, but not much more.
