I dont know if ebay can be seen as representative of "the market", but its something to go on for actual "sold prices".
clearly lots of dealers have BT's at £10,000 to £15,000, but i am not looking to spend that much.

anyhow, i have one car potentially in my sights.
it was on at £8995 for a while, now less.
i do like the black cars btw, though i would want to change the black wood to walnut.

    any thoughts on this car?

btw, i wasn't sure whether to discuss this on the open forum, for fear of offending established members who maybe trying to sell their own cars. and As a new comer, i didn't want to step on any toes.

Mike. i have found a car i am interested in.

Can i ask a very blunt question though? Do you think the majority of cars for the out there are overpriced? As in more than the market allows? The reason i say, is i have now been looking around for quite a number of months and it seems mainly all the same cars are still there for sale many months later? is the market for these just so small, that there are more cars for sale than buyers for them? I know i kind of asked this question before, but i am almost convinced of this fact now. Though most sellers would rather hold onto them indefinitely than sell at a "low" price?

well, i watched a few on ebay auctions, and it seems the typical price for these that actually sell, is anything from £2500 - £4500 for a typical condition 80s to early 90s, or up to £6000 for a later 90s model in good order.

This is it, its time and money (time being more precious for me currently), everytime to go and see one. There are plenty about at hugely varying sums though.
Would you say generally most of them are overpriced? Of course like most classics, market value has to be down to condition mainly, then history/ mileage. But with condition, you cant really tell until you see it. Rubbish camera phone pictures being prevalant.
I kept the advert details of one Turbo R i saw 5 years ago (was hoping it wouldn't take that long to get around to it!), with the view to buying, and i actually emailed a chap last night! No reply yet. Bit of a long shot, but i remember it didn't sell seemingly for ages, so figured he might even still have it? Nothing ventured....

I looked at flying spares website, but they only listed one car there, and it didn't really take my fancy.
No rush really, but am sure one will pop up that gets the heart pounding.

    Hi Naki
sorry for delayed reply i also didn't notice the message.
You are right you will see lots of cars on for month after month I went to see a turbo r in Derby he was asking about £13k and was an absolute shed! I also went to Aylsbury and that was total scrap! ,some people think that a RR/B is worth its weight in gold whatever condition.
As you can see I went miles and miles to find mine ,I would advise against this now as most bargains have sold by the time you get there if any good or sheds if still there ,and a waste of time and money, just limit your search to say 50ml.
    Hope that helps

    Hi Naki
Have you bought that Bentley yet?
Sounds like you need a trip to Flying spares, I bought mine from there and been fairly pleased so far.
They have nice Mulsanne turbo's from £2750.
If you go there mention me to them.
Turbo's are the best more power and economy and easier to sell if you want to , just look at the differnce in prices for turbo and non turbo!
    Good luck
