Chrome trim removal -

How does the chrome trim around body come off the car? Each of the pop out clips have come out minus the last round not and I don’t want to damage the trim.

Thanks in advance,

Pete

what car...?
if it's a Shadow there is a small BA fastener at the leading edge of the strip. You can access from the headlamp housing or removing the inner fender lining. Suggestion: squirt PB blaster or Kana Kroil to get the nut off. The nut holds a "shoe" that slides behind the trim.

The front doors have a small acorn nut on one end, and the rest pops off.

The rear waist trim has a shoe on the rearward end of the strip, accessed from the boot behind the tail lamp.

The sill stainless trim has a shoe on the front end, accessed from the fender well thru an access plate. You may want to blow out this area and paint it with a strong rust guarding primer. It's a common ingress for water and most often rusts thru to the outside and down below into the rocker panel. Once the shoe is off. carefully slide a Plastic putty knife to pop it away....careful..the rear is held to the body by a clip that the trim slides into and basically you pull the trim foward to release it.

I highly suggest ready the body section of the workshop manual, it's all in there.

The trim on the centre of the hood/bonnet on my Silver Shadow 11 has a threaded nut underneath each extremity, the nut at the front end is difficult to access. I presume the earlier Silver Shadows are similar but I'm not certain.
