Overheating.. let's face it the radiator is old. After decades of use or most likely seldom use there is no question there is mineral deposits within the tubes of the radiator and within the block. You can flush the block with a strong agent, however it will not work in the radiator. You can easily test the efficiency of the radiator with a thermal gun at the top tank vs the bottom tank. There should be at least a 25 degree drop. The coolant is simply backing up in the header tank and dribbling to the bottom.
A shroud or additional fans are not neccessary, if it was the factory would have done it. These cars have been tested and tested in extremes especially in hot climates. You need a new radiator core. It simply has to be done right if it's going to be a reliable car. Presently you are throwing dollars hoping to find a cure.

I second Shadow 11’s suggestion of installing the cooler thermostat.

I live in Texas and I put this thermostat on my Silver Wraith II this year. Best decision I ever made. September I could run the A/C and it never made it above 1/3 up the white area on the temperature gauge.

It’s a must in Laredo, especially with modern fuels. It looks just like the original, and you don’t see it anyway. It just opens fully at 78 C.

One other thing I haven’t seen anyone else mention: It’s a good idea to fill your coolant on a ramp, so the fill cap is the highest part of the car. Let it bubble through, run the car a bit, and repeat until full. This might be more important on Shadows than Clouds, the way they’re put together, but it will ensure no bubbles.

Definitely get that cooler thermostat, and FS should also have the shroud.
