I like Knoxville. My partner has family in Tellico/Loudon.

Shipped a Porsche out there a few months back and crossed America in it. Mulling over doing it again in the Turbo R.

A friend of mine that restores high end Ferrari suggested that a company in Ohio-Cometic Gasket Company might be a source, so I e-mailed them a query about making some. I will advise their response.

Cheers!

Thank you!
Your neighbors across the lake are coming over to London late November. Would be great to have it back on the road by then. Otherwise four people, their luggage, and one dog will all be crammed in an Abarth 500.

No way you can get all those in an Abarth 500!

Cheers.

A small update on this. I spoke to Starman’s yesterday who is next door to Flying Spares. FS have got a one on test in a car, a redeveloped item, not from the Bentley. MLS with copper rings. I’m hopeful the set he has ordered for me will be available without too much of a wait.

I did investigate using the later Arnage MLS gasket, apparently one of the other specialists have fitted a couple, one a success, another on an earlier car not. No idea why, possibly the condition of the block.

Last week I also emailed Bentley asking them to shed some light on when a new item will be available, and if they could offer some comment on the materials used and design improvement. As yet no reply but hopefully they will come back.

I am not sure but Robison in new england of the USA, has I believe used the Arnage gaskets on turbo R, even before there was any shortage of gaskets. He has a website and has articles on the subject of turbo R and why the gaskets fail and what to do about it. (how to fix it up in your own shop, or write a cheque for $30,000 and then pray).

Use your PMC for mental therapy. I replaced my psychiatrist with a PMC. Thirty minutes of driving per day is more effective than doctors and drugs.

John Robison is the RROC technical editor. He is highly intelligent with RR/B marques and others. He has state of the art shops on the old RR Springfield site and I have visited him a few times and enjoyed our discussions when we were in the Rock n" Roll field. He is very familiar with the gasket issue which is now a disaster due to lack of a quality gasket.

PM's you Andy. The new (redesigned/MLS with copper rings) gaskets are a must if you are rebuilding the engine. It is a massive issue on these cars, in my opinion one which contributes to keeping the price of the cars low as well as making them a worry to use (same thing I guess).

P&A Wood and Flying Spares are both saying they have a batch due imminently.
