Silver Shadow/Corniche Hydraulic Fluid Reservoir Filters

Hello,

I remember reading the recommended sizes for the springs to be inserted into the reservoir filters when these have collapsed due to being run with blockage.

Mine are partially collapsed and want to add the springs to keep them upright.

Does someone have the sizes for the said springs?

They can be straightened. If the fluid is kept clean it will not stress the screens. It is possible the springs will exert too much internal pressure and separate the screen resulting in debris into the hydraulic pumps.
PM Jim Walters. He makes a nice screen. You can clean and straighten yours and when you receive new ones you don't have to totally drain the reservoir. Use a turkey baster.

No, if the spring is exactly the height of the un collapsed filter, then no pressure should be exerted on it - only if the screen starts to deform.

I recall someone posting a picture with reproduction filters with a removable screen held in place with steel wire, any idea?
