Not much luck getting any information about availability of the original product.

It appears the hessian/jute was not glued onto the back but bonded during the manufacturing process and the pattern on the outer surface is just the roller marks.

I am no rubber/plastic compound expert but I must assume the hessian was just to give the material a 'tear/bend/form' strength property. I know I have a part lino floor in my garage and that is quite flexible material but the lino tiles I bought to put at bottom of kitchen cupboards would just break like biscuits if bent a little.

I like the look of the outer material and the surface pattern of that hardura that wraithman linked but I hate that hairy backing to work with.

Still waiting on a couple of old trimmer friends to offer up alternatives so will update if anything comes up.
