Good afternoon - my 81 Silver Spirit illuminates the No. 1 system light after about 30 minutes running - but after the car cools down, I have 22 pumps again on No. 1 system.
No. 2 system has a solid 30 pumps at all times and no problems.
The front spheres were renewed last year (and I have done about 500 miles since).
Any ideas welcome - thanks in advance - Colin Williams
It could be the spheres, if they have 9 years or more, think replacing them
Could be air in the system, bleeding brake pressure switches could help.
Could be inside the brake pressure switches, stuck, dirty....
Various things to investigate.
Brake spheres are CRUCIAL. No more gas inside = NO MORE BRAKES
You will press the brake pedal, the car will just not react and will keep on driving....
Brian, I wonder if you are not thinking regarding the Low Fluid light which came on the first SZ and a kit was offered to have a delay ?
On late SZ, this issue was solved.
Don't know where you are but if in EUrope I have several extra parts for those switches, washer, diaphragm, pin....
You could contact me via MP if required
Thank you Jean7 - I am in Germany - not far from Frankfurt. The car is booked into a workshop this week for a service and (hopefully) repair of No. 1 system. I will let you know what happens next week.
