Hi Robert - pretty illusive these. I obtained a complete system, including head unit and remote on ebay after maintaining a watch for about a year. (The original head unit had failed, and a previous owner had lost the remote).

(No other head unit looks quite right in these cars! and when they are working properly, the sound quality is very good)

The head unit model number is the TDA7537R - I would save a search on ebay for this. you could also save a search for "Alpine remote"

It's worth noting that the TDA7537R was produced in regular Alpine branded guise, and also, exclusively for Rolls Royce, with no Alpine branding. I would assume the remote for both would be interchangeable. Certainly they are between the RR unbranded units - the remote worked for both my head units without any sort of re-programming.

Do you know what they look like, in terms of recognising it? if not, let me know and I'll post a photo!

I had a 2000 Continental R and a 2002 Arnage Both had the same Alpine units. I swapped the control box in the Arnage for an Alpine NVE m300p so I could update the maps. All three units used the same remote control. This is still available from Alpine and costs 39

Why not go the whole hog and get an NVE M300 p which will give you a better performance and the ability to update the maps for about 50 There are several on Ebay like this one
