Hello from new member

Hello all, my name is Gianfi and I'm living in London area. When growing up in the 70s-80s had a dream of owning one or these cars. Then I seemed to go completely off them.

But recently, the interest came back and last December I finally took the plunge with a 1996 S Spirit III-IV... the itch didn't stop there, so just a few months after, I also got a 1968 S Shadow.

So I'll soon be bankrupt 🙂

The irony is I don't particularly like red as a colour. The first car was bought at auction, and I just accepted the way it came. I then bought a white 1967 Shadow (also at auction, v cheap) but when I brought it to a specialist it needed SO much work, I chickened out and I ended up trading it in part exchange for an early Shadow they had for sale, and this was red too! I sometimes wish I'd taken the risk with the white one, but ..C'EST LA VIE

The shadow with it's red/burgundy paint, black ever-flex top and cream interior looks really smart.
Is it a LWB (long wheel base), all the Shadow's that I've come across that have the ever-flex top have been long wheel bases, they're kind of rare.
The back window in each door is noticeably longer then a standard body, I believe it adds about 4 inches of length to the car, providing more leg room in the back seat.

Garage
Where in London are you?
The upside is that from Monday you can take the Shadow (over 40 years old) into central London without paying the toxicity charge and in two years this will expand to north & south circular zone.
All my cars sadly will be subject just as your Spirit.
Bar stewards!
