ive got a 1991 bentley turbo r red label with a strange problem one minute it runs fine the next it will not start at all ,then finally it will start cough and splutter a bit then run fine again until the next time it does it, ive changed all the plugs , distibuter caps, two coils, rotor arms im at a loss as to what the fault is , its as if the car is not firing at all yet then all of a sudden it goes, its not petrol, as petrol is up straight away and at the plugs as they are getting wet its as if theres an immobaliser on it and it kicks in im really at a loss also when this fault happens the management light comes on saying engine fault then goes back of when it starts running again is there anyway i can get this diagnostic checked ? or any ideas as to what the fault is ?

Sounds very much like you have a connection/sensor fault if you follow the link listed on many other post for the australian RR owners club they have the manuals which will have all info on how to check them

you might have a Driver Information Panel problem, its becoming more and more common with this era of rolls and bentley. the DIP is between your 2 main guages in the dash and ALL the cars info passes through it when you turn the key on. if the panel starts to fail you will get intermitent problems just like you describe. are you getting any odd codes flashing up then disappearing? if it is the DIP then sooner or later it will just die and you won`t even be able to get the car out of park. they are an absolute bugger and bosche don`t make then anymore. let me know the answer to above question.
