Here is another car that i did for amari at www.amarisupercars.co.uk
this one was a real treat, because when i was growing up this was always my dads dream car who was always telling me that this was the finest motor car that money can buy,
and i think he could of been right!
every part of this car just said quietly, from the 6.75 litre engine down to the shag pile carpets,
this one how ever was in dire need of some attention,
amari had the car in for a couple of weeks and after a number of visits the car was still here, he had almost given up on the car and had it sat at the back of the showroom collecting dust,
he had been threatening me for a couple of weeks that he was going to get me in to detail the car and that i would have my work cut out,
i said to him that i would get it back to it's former glory no problem, (fatal last words there, i should of believed him when he said i would have my work cut out,)
here is the car on arrival
with years of gunk and grime built up in the panel gaps and door shuts,
faded and badly swirled paint,
tarnished chrome,
and very manky leather seats
not to mention the grey wall tyres that should in fact be white
i started off with a snow foam treatment, made up of valet pro combo foam and a drop of auto smart G101
whilst this was dwelling i used autosmart G101 and a soft bristled brush to go around trim details and panel gaps etc,
i washed the car using dodo juice born to be mild and the wheels with valet pro bilberry, the tyres were also cleaned using g101
i then clayed the car using dodo juice gentle grey and dodo juice born slippy clay lube
i then rewashed the car leaving it looking like this
the car was then moved inside (got to say it was very different driving this compared to the lambo's etc)
then i took a couple of paint depth readings and as you would expect on a car of this calibre it was very even all round, with no patches of repair either,
here are a few pics as i went around polishing it,
i did this using 3M fast cut plus on a green cutting pad followed buy menzerna intensive polish on a yellow polishing pad and finished off with a blue finishing pad and dodo juice lime prime,
as you can see it was in pretty bad shape,
these are from the bonnet,
and a couple of 50/50's
some more defects
before
after
50/50
a few reflections
more defects,
after
it did soon come apparent that this was a epic detail, as the bonnet took the best part of a day to compleat,
before
50/50's
polished
before
after
Hannah got on with cleaning the leather using gliptone leather cleaner
50/50 of the cream leather seats, please remember these are getting on for 20 years old,
i carried on with the paint work,
some more defects,
after
before
after
after the polishing the car was very very dusty so i gave the car a quick wash off
some nice reflections as i did this
i then dried the car again,
applied the first coat of dodo juice purple haze,
cleaned the windows using auto glym fast glass,
conditioned the leather using gliptone leather cleaner
polished ALL the chrome by hand using meguires nxt metal polish,
dressed the tyres using autosmart high style
dressed the engine and under arches using chemical guys bare bones,
as i was doing this, a couple came in to look at the car and were so impressed with it they put a deposit down there and then
i also got talking to them and the lady had owned a 3 door cosworth since new and had only covered around 20,000 miles,
i then applied a second coat of purple haze and buffed off,
here are a few finished pictures,
the couple came a week later to collect the car and were kind enough to text me when they were on the way so i could go and have a look at the cosworth it was a loverly car and well looked after so i am sure this car will have the same care and attention that it deserves,
thanks for reading
Nic

Epic indeed. Nice work. I wish I could get you to do up my old W124 alas you're more than 5,000 kms away. _________________ Stirling

| Nice... Had the same color combo on a 1994 Spur that I purchased in 1998. Should not have sold her! |
