| Posted two pictures. The 928 has had a poor respray at some point. Very poor masking. Defiantly a 100 foot car. I'm looking at 4 post hoist for my garage, and once installed, I'll transfer over; engine, transmission, and some other bits into another, nicer one body wise I have. |

I tend collect a number of particular cars, except RR & Bentley I also own a 1974 Chevrolet El Camino Conquista, a 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Landau, a 1991 VW Golf Cabriolet SportLine, a 1968 Morris Moke, a 1968 Jaguar XJ 4.2 and a 1999 FIAT Strada pick-up where in the back bumper I fixed the fatidic plate "My other car is a Rolls Royce", surely the poshest solution _________________ DOMINUS ILLUMINATIO MEA. |

That's quite a collection! I'm thinking that in Italy maybe the Monte Carlo would be the most unusual car? _________________ Stirling

Oh yes very rare! there are only two 1978 Chevy Monte in Italia and my one is the only one with the V8 engine, the other is a V6 sport coupè model in metallic silver.
My monte Carlo came out from a particular story started in Montecarlo.
Was in fact bought new to the British Motors (the historical Rolls Royce and Bentley dealer in Montecarlo) by Aristotele Onassis' Family to be drived during permanence in the Principaute, then left parked in the Loews Montecarlo (now Fairmont) for years and years because the Onassis' nephew was minor.
For a number of coincidences and some good friends in the Principaute I had the important opportunity to know Mr. Safra, (sadly died few months later during a sort of kidnapping simulation in his house) who gave me the documentation to acquire the car even because no one in the family was prone to keep a vintage car...
Car was almost new with only usual affections interesting cars unused since long time (hoses, radiator, master cylinder, tires....) I replaced all and in 10 years (I bought it in 1998) I drove around 20.000 miles of second life.
Maybe if someone is interested I can upload few pix about it. _________________ DOMINUS ILLUMINATIO MEA. |
