No doubt you've all seen the bumper sticker on the Hyundai in front of you that says "My other car is a Porsche".
So what bumper sticker is on the back of your Rolls-Royce or Bentley?
What do you drive when you have to pick up the groceries, or take the nephews to football practise? _________________ Stirling

I have an electric car that I do my local errands in. My regular distance car is a Jaguar XJ8. _________________ Lew

I've got a 2001 MG TF.
Recently I've had a 1972 Triumph 2000 and a 1981 Triumph Spitfire. Triumphs have been in my family for generations and I've had more of them than hot dinners! |

My new-to-me 1988 Porsche Turbo S (silver rose) just arrived in Toronto this week from Japan. I haven't seen it yet but I'm pretty excited, especially since I didn't realize it was an S until three days ago. A nice bonus.
I also have a 1991 500SL for the summer months (another Japan special) and for the winter a 1991 Volvo 740 Turbo estate with 361,000 km on it. So I'm all-Euro all the time.
Henry that MGF is a nice car. My first car was an MGB, but we North Americans haven't seen a new MG since 1980. I hear the Chinese company that bought the name will be building MGF's in Oklahoma in the next few years.
Let's review - a Chinese company will be building MG's in Oklahoma. No wonder they say the only constant is change. _________________ Stirling

| Rover probably wouldn't have gone under if they'd been able to sell the MGF/TF over there. That combined with BMW taking the best bit away (the Mini) and neglecting the rest in order to ultimately remove the competition to their own cars from the equasion. |

Today I got to give my "new" 1991 Mercedes 300E 24v a good run. It arrived from Japan about a month ago but didn't get plated until today.
What a fine car. Not the fastest or sexiest car I've owned but a terrific all-rounder. Tight feel, supple ride, nice handling. Its got to be one of the best used car bargains out there. _________________ Stirling

I drive my Shadow every day, and wouldn’t have it any other way.

| I'm going to sell my relatively new MG with the intention of driving my Shadow everyday too! I don't see a problem as long as you don't do huge miles. |

Why is that? The engines are made for a couple of hundreds of thousand miles. I hear this rather often, that a Rolls-Royce easily does long trips And I myself experienced the same: 1.000 miles per trip done without even thinking of problems. :-)
Greetinx from Munich!

Yeah, I know. I did 800 miles on my test drive in the UK and apart from a sticky starter solenoid it was fine.
What I mean is, you couldn't really use one for repping, i.e. 3000 miles a month every month! That kind of mileage, apart from being expensive on the petrol would probably soon lead to little things needing to be repaired...If you're unlucky, at large cost.
Ideal useage would probably be 150 miles a week with a little blast on the autbahn every so often. |

I found a good deal on another 928S the other day, white with red interior and low mileage. So I bought it and picking up latter today. Just so happens a dealer still has a 1991 Spur, chose mine over this one and they are offering a steal of a deal. So might have to buy that as well. |

| Today will be picture day. Decided a second Spur, might effect the boating budget with diesel (tow vehicle) and gas prices reaching $4.50 per gallon and on the water gas will no doubt be over $5.00 per. |
