Airbag Light

I recently had to remove and reinstall the satnav in the boot of my 2002 Arnage T. After it had been replaced the airbag light came on. All the fitters did was simply reconnect the unit so I do not think this was the cause. They had not disconnected the battery as the radio did not need resetting. How do I get the light off please

Good Morning Paul
there are sensors for the Air bag in the Boot
You Can Try resetting the Can Line By Removing both Battery Terminals or 4 if you Have 2 Battery's
and switching every thing on to drain any power hiding in the Meany ECU's then put Battery Leads back on
if this dusn't work you need to have the OBD reader put on to read the code and put it out
as your a customer of Cardiff Bentley they should do in cheep

Hi Paul, If it helps I have the scan tool for the Arnage and can read and reset it. I am in Cardiff now and again so may be able to tie it in with a visit. Otherwise my workshop is near Llandeilo if you travel this way.

Unfortunately, I don't do five different types of coffee while you wait . . . but I am half the price

Same for key programming Michael.

Regards, Paul Yorke.

Common stuff on airbag systems: sensor/switch connectors. The airbag circuits operate at very small current so if contact resistance builds at connectors this is monitored and will log a fault.
If connectors are good, buckle switches and igniter circuits etc common. Carry out airbag system scan ASAP.
If you required assistance with the system specific to this vehicle PM me full VIN and I'll pull some technical reference for you.

***Of course, airbag, being a safety system...do not work on this if you are not qualified to so***

If you require technical assistance please PM your vehicle's last 5 of the VIN.

Hi
It may be the same problem I had with my 2003 rubbish merc, mot fail airbag light on.
The airbag connectors are great quality gold plated, the car connector was rubbish tin strip so a little galvanic corrosion and you have a high resistance connection wheen the ecu looks/checks the system and throws up an error.
You need to analyse the system to find which one is throwing up the error, then fix it by cutting out the bad ones ,I just did all of them on the merc.
Then I had to have the dealer reset it has it was a "safety system" 125 for 5 mins work , chrysler /merc cr@p.
Don't work on airbag systems if your not confident or competent!
Hope that helps

Hi quarryman
I hate all these electronics that are being fitted nowadays too , my daily driver is a 2012 mondeo the "smart" alternator or the ecu is saying my battery is low , oh no it isn't , stupid error messages!
I don't like airbags either ,driving around with an explosive device in my face !
