I've been searching the Net for 2 days now, and the only rear pads I can find are The REALLY pricey sets from Flying Spares...and places of that sort. Does anyone have ANY info on where to pick up a set of rear Disc Brake pads for an '84 Spirit? Any interchange pads? Thanks, guys...
While looking for replacement front disc pads for my Jaguar ('77 XJ6C) I came upon a diagram of one of the pads. The front pad for the Jaguar is identical to the rear pad on my '84 Spirit...almost. The Jaguar pad is 8mm wider than the Rolls pad, and 1mm taller...thickness being the same. A bit of trimming and I have my set of rear brake pads...for $15 delivered to my door.
QUARRYMAN - Thanks for the lead. However, I checked the measurements between the Jaguar pads and the MB pads, and the Jaguar pads are much closer to the rear SZ pads...only a few mm difference.
UPDATE - The Jaguar pads have been functioning perfectly. It didn't take much trimming at all to fit them. $15 delivered sure beats $68 plus Shipping...
Did you trim the pad material or the actual metal plate to which the pads are adhered? Would you kindly give a little more detail to the process? Thanks.
