Later Model SZ Rear Brake Pads.

Has anyone been able to find a replacement part number for the later model SZ cars rear brake pads at all?

The useful resources on here provide all of these substitute part numbers for cars up to approximately 1994, serial no: 50,000 finish, parts such as; BENTLEY cd6396, BENTLEY UG12430, COMLINE ADB0157, FERODO FDB1296-A, MINTEX MGB537, AC DELCO AC058918D.

I've looked on the Flying Spares site, and a different rear pad is specified for cars 1994 - 1998 50,000 series onwards....

They do an original, which is: 3Z0698451F at £118.56

Or a pattern part, number UR73209P at £87.00

This pattern part picture has a Ferodo manufacture code on the edge of the friction material, but I cant seem to find it as a listed part.

Has anyone found a substitute for the later pad for the rear?

Thanks.

What's interesting is that if you look at the TSD6167, the Illustrated Parts Catalog for cars through the 1989 model year, and IETIS for the 1990-2000 model year cars the rear brake pads are specified as CD6396 up through the 50K series cars, but have an entirely different part number UR73209, from 50K onward.

I know that the Ferodo pads shown by Mike are the functional equivalent for the CD6396, but I have no idea what is different about the UR73209.

One option that I've exercised more than once is taking the old part to my local "mom and pop" auto parts store where the staff are accustomed to having to do part matching for obscure parts and having them find a physical match. It's a rare occasion when they can't, sometimes just using the various parts catalogs, but others having to go through stock.
