My front suspension does NOT match the workshop manual!

I just purchased a 1974 Silver Shadow.

I was steered (no pun intended) to the workshop manual by this forum and have begun studying it carefully.

I have the vehicle on my alignment rack and am attempting to align it but noticed my front suspension does not match the workshop manual! I will post some pics but the workshop manual shows a conventional upper control arm that spans to the chassis, with one attachment ahead and one behind the spring.

Mine has upper control arms (that look very much stock) that attach in one spot (I believe aft of the spring and then again further aft via an adjustable arm (that would appear to adjust castor and perhaps camber).

Can anyone help me figure out what is going on here?! My chassis number is ~18400.

Thanks!

- Jason

OK, after combing the "Flying Spares" website, I noticed there is a "compliant" and "non-compliant" suspension for the Silver Shadow. From vin 13485 it was the "compliant" version which matches mine.

Does anyone have access to workshop manual which covers the "compliant" suspension? The online version seems to only cover the earlier "non-compliant" version.

Thanks!

Jason, well spotted, in your first post you indeed described the compliant mount very well!
Did you check this site?
rrtechnical.info
(without the www)
If you don't find it there, I could possibly get you what you need from another source.
